Anne checks in after she saw this great post about Katrina Bolduc, an athlete and mother who started breastfeeding her son as soon as her triathlon was over. Many thanks to Katrina for being such an inspiration to moms everywhere!
It's World Breastfeeding Week! Seems like the perfect time to check back in after many months of silence. 😌 Rest assured that these have been very busy and productive months both personally and professionally.
I went back to work in January and somehow we all made it through the school year in one piece. It was a huge relief when June 10th rolled around and I said hello summer and goodbye pump! I feel happy everyday that I was able to pump enough milk to feed two babies but let's be honest, pumping sucks. The twins are rapidly pproaching their first birthday and we are looking forward to reaching our one year of nursing goal. We don't have any plans on stopping but I have to say I do feel happy proud and grateful to have been able to breastfeed twins all this time!
Another thing I'm proud of is that I've been able to exercise! And guess what I've been wearing? That's right! My very own Just Bloomed athletic shirt! It's just one of our first samples, but it has been amazing. Really. It looks great and there's no more struggle trying to figure out what to wear. I put it on, exercise, nurse the babies and we're all set. Perfect! Although I'm not a triathlete like this amazing mom Katrina Bolduc, I can fully understand where she's coming from trying to get back in shape after a baby and still be able to breastfeed. Sometimes it can feel like the two are mutually exclusive so it's great to see all the support she got. And nursing in public too!
That's another thing I love about our amazing shirts. The convenience. Pop on my Just Bloomed shirt and I'm ready to go. I can exercise and breastfeed. And I have. One memorable day I was running with the twins and and Elizabeth just could not settle. We pulled over, I fed her and we got back to our run. A true highlight of my summer!
I hope everyone is enjoying summer and check back in often...we're hoping to share some exciting news soon!
